Day 1 of vacation update: I lost my key to my car on NYE. My car was parked outside the police station downtown. Yesterday, after I wake up with one the worst hangovesr ever, I try and find my key. No Such luck. I look everywhere. I even called the friend whos house I was at to see if it was there. Fail. So, I decided that the best option would be to wake up early, put change in the meter, go to the dealership, get a new key and live with the story. So, I get up at 7am. Put change in the meter. Call dealership. Apparently, its a state law that you have to have the title or registration to get a new key. Which, is in my car. That is locked. So, I go home and try and find the title or something. No luck. Off to the Secretary of State to get the registration and/or title. They then informed me that I needed proof of insurance. Which is in my car. That is locked. Off to WORK I go to get a copy of the proof because it was sent to my work email, that I cant access from home. After getting that done, I head back to Secretary of State to get the documents I need. After proving ownership with the registration at the dealership, and spending $100 on a new key, I then headed back downtown to the car to find a parking ticket, and the new key doesnt work! After trying the key 5 times, I knew the best option was to just have it towed to the dealership. After calling my insurance, getting ready to have the car towed, they informed me that it can be up to two hours. I decide to go home and wait for the call from the tow truck or dealership. Once home, I needed to use the restroom. What do I find in the bottom second drawer that I never use (Not even sure what made me look!) The Key that I lost.
