Day 10 of pitbull awareness month is a two for one day! Princess(aka princess gargoyle) and Rex(aka Rexlebee)came into the shelter together...not once but twice. They were picked up as strays, returned to their owner for the same thing to happen again. This time the shelter became their home. They hated each other from the time they came in, as well as most other dogs(although I have seen both of them play with other dogs one on one) but lets just say they were both very picky choosy and needed to live in single dog homes. When it came to people however, talk about loves!! Everyone knows they were favorites of myself and my daughter(hence the photos)and I couldnt be happier to say that after 2 and a half years for Rex(he went home around this same time last year) and over 3 years for Princess, she went home this past spring...both are thriving and doing wonderful in their forever homes. Weve actually visited Rex and correspond with his owners every couple of months and she always calls me if she has questions or if he comes down with the sniffles or something(god I love that boy)Being a part of happy ending stories like these is what makes being part of the pitbull community an awesome thing! I just wish more people gave dogs like these two a chance and they were all happy endings.
