Day 11. Half way, finally. I am pleased to say that everyone passed the exam once again. I can’t understand how there was so many failures in the material that they were trained on before I arrived. Perhaps it’s just a true reflection of the ability of their instructor! (yawn). Airframe fuel systems today, then I will make a start on the Powerplant. Close call yesterday on the drive in to the airport. As you know, the roads have what I call ‘man-hole’ covers on them. Well there was one missing on the route we were taking and I think it was probably a matter of time before someone’s wheel went in to the hole; luckily it wasn’t us because my driver managed to swerve just in time. Crazy. Well I had better go and get my only meal of the day; breakfast. It is Friday morning here in Kazakhstan and it is looking cloudy for the first time. Hopefully it will remain that way and keep the sun away for a day. It may not be humid here, but that sun is blistering hot. I haven’t seen a drop of rain since I arrived in this country. Two weeks and two days and I will be home with my family, and away from this purgatory. Still a bit too early to start counting the days, but the ‘chuff-chart’ begins on Monday for sure! And I will be chuffed to bits to get out of this place. I will try to get some pictures on Sunday. This Sunday will be my first real day off because I spent the last one in the training material all day trying to correct all the errors before I delivered the material to the students. Once more into the fray…
