Day 111 of #WalkingBorneo - #Sibu 8 Treasure Soup & Malaysias biggest indoor market A wonderful rest day slowly exploring Sibu, slowly wondering around town and preparing mentally and physically for tomorrow. The highlight of our visit to Sibu has to be the massive indoor market. So vibrant and full of colour; it contains an incredible mix of fruits and vegetables from all over Borneo, as well as fish, meat, groceries etc. We were particularly impressed by the very inventive way the vendors sold live poultry in carefully wrapped newspaper packages. Sibu is home to a large Chinese population and uniquely contains a large Foochow community which is reflected in the food on offer. Seeking something to boost our bodies for the upcoming walk we found this delicious, healthy and boosting 8 Treasures soup - Made with 8 different chinese herbs and delicious homemade noodles.
