Day#16 #staypositive Religion-an organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, and rules used to worship a god or a group of gods 1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” Religion vs. Perfect love Religion has taken the place of knowing the true nature of God in our lives. Religion is a faceless entity that strips us from knowing the true intent of God in our lives. Religion wants to control and manipulate our actions for the glory of man. Jesus died on the cross in the power of God’s divine love towards us. God is not mad at us or require us to live in shame. God is very much in love with us in every way and wants us to walk in divine happiness. We often times substitute religious traditions for true intimacy with the Lord. We do not truly understand that God loves us beyond all our mistakes in this life. There is no bad news in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Your sins are not remembered in the blood of Jesus and your past does not define you in His grace. Religion will condemn our actions and tell us how to act to obtain approval from God. God sent His approval in Jesus Christ and we do not seek His approval once we accept the blood of Jesus in our lives. We often times feel overwhelmed with trying to earn God’s approval. The reason why you feel overwhelmed trying to get God’s approval is because it cannot be earned. God’s approval was given to Jesus and Him alone. When we accept the blood of Jesus we obtain God’s approval and love in our act of humility in accepting Jesus as savior. You cannot earn God’s approval though works, but you can gain love and acceptance by God through Jesus. God loves you the same as He loves Jesus today. He has nothing but good intentions towards you. I ask you to re-evaluate your opinion towards God today. We sometimes have a distorted view of God because of religion. God is not religion and religion does not reflect God. God is purely love and His love towards us never fails. You are not discarded trash on the side of the road. You are God’s passion and He wants to know you today. Religion can make serving God a burden. Walking in relationship with the Lord is not a burden but rather a joy. There is no burden in the Lord and no condemnation in Christ Jesus. We have all been hurt in church or by another Christian. Do not let another person’s opinion cause you to misinterpret God’s love towards you. God loves you beyond all understanding and all we have to do is receive His love. Embrace the simplicity of Jesus and reject the complications of religion. God is love and any opinion outside that fact is simply wrong. You are loved and cherished by God today. Walk in the confidence of God’s love and the redemption of Jesus Christ. #staypositive
