Day 17: Dont under estimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you cant hear, and not bothering. Piglet, Poohs Little Instruction Book - A. A. Milne So often our weekends are as full as our weekdays. There is always something to do or something that needs to be done. I am the worst about trying to fill in every waking minute with all kinds of things important and not important. On this quite fall Sunday morning, after a very long week I made the decision that the only goals I had were to eventually get out of bed and to do some laundry. Andrea and her family were here and just like when she lived here I woke to the lovely smell of bacon. She and Chris had gotten up and cooked breakfast for all of us. After breakfast the girls played with toys and things that had been left at our house. They came out dressed as the nerds and I must say they are two Nerds that I love with all my heart. Once they had left to head home I considered getting dressed as it was 12:30 and I was still in my nightgown. Natasha called and needed us so we did get dressed and go out, we went and had a late, leisurely lunch and just visited and talked about many things (some that you never want to face, but must). With all of this said, I found the above quote and it seemed fitting for my lazy, do nothing day. I went with the flow, answered the call, sat and talked and listened to things that I didnt necessarily want to hear or wasnt hearing but needed to hear. Earlier this week I rambled on about how badly we overbook ourselves. Today I challenge you to find a day and prioritize it as your Do Nothing day. We all need downtime to breathe deeply, relax and prepare ourselves for whatever comes next. Ask your self, What is the harm if the chores wait one more day?
