Day 18: Villamentero > Calzadilla As I said earlier, Day 17 had been rough and the next day I was super ready I get on the road and out of the town without Internet. I started out around 6:20 or so and the moment I stepped onto the road, the huge orange super moon was shining at me. It was amazing. I didnt even take a photo because I knew it wouldnt do it justice. As I walked to the first town, I kept looking at the foggy sunrise and thinking itd be nice to see someone I recognized. Well, about 1 kilometer outside of the town, I ran into Donna! A fellow American -- who spoke English! It was amazing. As we walked into town, we met up with all of the other Americans and Australians and Canadians -- SO MANY ENGLISH SPEAKERS! It really was comforting to see all of these familiar faces and be able to speak and be understood so easily. At this point I started walking with Julie, Celia, and Donna -- three American women. We were all going to Calzadilla and it looked like it should be a pretty easy route. Well... We were so into walking we sits pay attention to signs and ended up following the high instead of the actual route... Adding about 4 miles onto our trek. It was a hard day, but it was so nice to be with them. We also passed by a traveling circus which was pretty depressing... Its the third one Ive seen here. Poor animals. :-/
