Day 18 of 30 days of Thanksgiving! I am thankful for my daughter Kate!!! My 5.4 pound girl, that proved from the moment I suspected being pregnant with her, that she was going to be my stubborn one! 6 1/2 weeks early, spent almost 2 weeks in the NICU, cause she figured that being fed from a tube was so much easier than learning to eat! But we were never so glad for her stubborn streak till she started not feeling well all the time when she was about 3 years old. For years doctors would brush it off, occasionally running a test here and there to appease us, but we knew something wasnt right! Then finally when she was 8, she had gotten so bad where she came home from school and laid on the couch the rest of the day and refused to go outside and play because she would get sick and dehydrated! Then God graciously caused us to cross paths of an amazing naturopath who knew before testing her what was wrong, but we waiting for the tests to come back confirming she has Lymes Disease. Then the 9 months of intense treatment with her getting worse before getting better!! She is now been symptom free for about 3 years!! She will always carry the potential for a flare-up and she has to be careful to eat well, rest and listen to her body! She is so smart (which she struggled to read when diagnosed at 8 yrs old) she is so motivated, and she had fire in her! She will reach for the stars and get them!! We love you Kate, you are so amazing!!
