Day 2: Ian and I got an early start and headed to Chicago. We made a stop in Iowa City to see the University of Iowa campus and Kinnick Stadium. Robert would be happy as I proudly wore my LSU sweatshirt amidst the Hawkeyes, the most recent Tiger victims. Then we stopped off in Davenport to see the Father of Waters, the Mississippi River, before heading into Illinois. Once we got to Chicago and checked into our hotel, we went into tourist mode. All within walking distance of our hotel, we walked and saw Buckingham Fountain, Soldier Field, Lake Michigan, the Shedd Aquarium and Fielder Museum, Buddy Guys Blues Bar (well actually visit those three tomorrow), and the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower). We went up to the 103rd floor and saw Chicago in 360 degrees! Ian even convinced me to cheat death by walking out onto one of the Ledge boxes in which youre suspended 1500 feet above the ground in plexiglass!!! Then we went to an authentic Chicago hotdog restaurant and had the real-deal Chicago-style dogs! Stay tuned for more adventures! Ill have pictures when I get home. :-)
