Day 2, Im thankful for the cool weather & the sounds of rustling leaves. They remind me of Christmas, & other cold days @ my papas house. They had a pot bellied stove in the middle of the living room & @ times cousins all over every available piece of floor under homemade quilts, Freezing our hinnys off!! Papa always waited for Mama to get there & father & daughter with axe & saw in hand would go into the woods & cut the tree......a small cedar or holly, usually Holli, it came w/decorations! I remember glass ornaments, (I dont remember breaking any of them, but Im sure we did!) & those bubble lights & topped off with enough icicles to sink a barge!! But mainly I remember the smell of that stove when we were outside. Nothing like it!
