Day 2 NSW State Age 13 - 18 years Championships It’s Day 2 and again we had a number of competitors swim for AQUADOT in the individual events heats this morning. We had Amy, Jack, Katarina and Emma in the 50 free, Rachel in the 200 back, Matthias in the 100 free, Blake, Joel and Hannah in the 200 IM, Blake and Hannah in the 100 fly and Jack in the 100 breast. The kids and coaches were great, gave their best at all times and as always, were perfect ambassadors for our club both in and out of the pool. Highlights from the morning’s events were Emma qualifying for the finals in the 50 free. Some nice PB’s to Rachel (5.24 sec) in 200 back, Matthias (0.9 sec) 100 free, Joel (3.25 sec) in the 200 IM, Hannah (1.85 sec) in the 200 IM and Hannah (2.37 sec) in the 100 fly. In tonight’s evening session we were all behind Emma who has been having a rough time with a niggling shoulder injury. Emma went into tonight’s final seeded 3rd fastest and she did not disappoint! Huge congrats to Emma who swam a great final, slightly faster than in the heats finishing in 3rd place (BRONZE) and winning AQUADOTS first medal for the meet. We had four relay teams tonight and from what I can see, pretty much a clean sweep of PB’s across the board for all of our swimmers. Great work team! In the girls 13-14, 4x50 free we had Rachel, Elise, Maddy and Georgia. The girls were simply awesome and finished in 17th place out of a field of 38 teams. Nice work Girls! In the boys 13-14, 4x50 free we had 2 teams - Leo, Jake, Joel and Blake were our A team and came in 13th, and Evan, Alex, Aden and Riley, our B team came in 33rd. Well Done Boys! Great to have so many boys in this age group. Last but not least – in the 13-18, 4 x 100 freestyle, we had Gabby, Ash, Rachel and Emma swim up a storm finishing up in 5th place. Wooo Hoooo! Well Done to everyone who competed for AQUADOT today. You are all out there giving it your best and for doing that, you make us proud! GO the DOTS.
