Day 2. Since Im hanging out with a baby who doesnt quite wanna - TopicsExpress

Day 2. Since Im hanging out with a baby who doesnt quite wanna sleep yet, I figured Id recall and recap a bit of my experiences..Back in the day, I started with a really simple TM (transcendental meditation) approach, and the mantra of ham-sahhh. Ham on the in, sahhh on the out. I sat in the antique chair in the living room, as it had the straightest back of anything in the house, and my family would generally refrain from asking questions and were kind enough to tip-toe around each day before dinner. Then I got a great book on ki breathing and visualization exercises (chi, except the author was Korean, so ki instead). Many of these were quite intense; not peaceful at all. I dont subscribe to the idea of chi, at least not exactly as its often sold, but I do think my time spent with these techniques was amazing for kinesthetic and proprioceptic awareness (big words for body awareness, basically). If youre interested, I think Maxicks ideas on how bodily awareness affects performance are really fun: breakingmuscle/strongman/strongman-profile-maxick-teaches-us-the-lost-art-of-muscle-control Okay, enough rambling for today. Any favourite mantras? A friend of mine recently taught me a long one, over three breaths: Im sorry/Please forgive me/Thank you, I love you. Theres a melody with it, and is intended to be sung.
