Day 2 of 5 day challenge! The beginning of plein air painting came when I went to the southwest in 1998 on a vacation trip which ended up being a painting trip. One of my favorite places is Santa Fe, New Mexico. The colors of the landscape there were so different from the east coast and all the wonderful art galleries there on Canyon Road inspired me even more. I started painting the landscape there and was able to get representation in a gallery in Albuguerque in the late 90s and after that I was hooked on plein air painting. These are some of the early paintings that I showed there. The last one is the gorge in Taos where I ended up for three months early in 2000 and painted almost every day with Peggy Immel and other N.M. painters as well. Also one week the Colorado Plein Air Painters joined us in Taos. I would like to challenge Peggy for the 3 paintings for 5 days event. Peggy is a great painter and friend that I wish I could see more of. Cant wait to see what she posts!
