Day 2 of 5 of songs that evoke memories, Sweet Little Mystery by John Martyn. I chose this for two reasons. It reminds me of the wind down at the end of many a party at Jacqui McIlvennys after a night in the Shadows bar and the Venue heavy rock club in 85 / 86. Wed all be chilled, lying across couches, seats, beds and floor and on would go John Martyn. Sweet Little Mystery summed it all up. I still sorely miss Jacqui. I am sure that is true for all her friends. I chose this version from 1987 because I first met John Martyn on this tour, and my band, Beyond a The Edge, partied hard with him all afternoon and evening (in his tour bus mainly), before his Glasgow gig. We were amazed that he could contemplate performing, but as soon as he was on stage it was like someone flicked a switch. Brilliant. What a performance.
