Day 2 of being thankful! I am so very grateful for my wonderful birth family. I would not be the person I am today without my Mom, Dad and sister Sue. 1. I am grateful for my sister Sue. As kids in the 70s, before video games, cable and VCRs, you had to be pretty creative to have fun. We used to play DJ with the radio, roller skate in the basement, and watch endless episodes of the Brady Bunch. I think we both can tell what episode it is after the first 3 seconds. Sue and I live near each other and are able to help each other out with kids, plants, dogs, etc. I am looking forward to the time when our lives are less crazy and we can spend some quality sister time together! Vegas? 2. What can I say about my dad Ed. He can do everything. Really. Fix things, build things, tech stuff, garden, can pickles, do math, and has fabulous handwriting. My Dad is my role model, I was lucky enough to work with him for 10 years and am still living down his legacy. :) At 72 years old he has not slowed down. He is a fantastic grandpa to my kids also, teaches them things and makes them milkshakes every time they sleep over. I remind him I never got homemade milkshakes as a kid, when I can I stay over? 3. My Mom Carol is truly the most selfless person I have ever met. I dont think she has ever put herself first. She is a very nurturing person, she is so great with her grandkids, she really enjoys spending time with them playing games, making lunch, going to the park, baseball games, whatever. She makes them feel special and they know it. She was here for me when I had my babies, helped watch them 2 days a week and got to know them so well, also took them to preschool for me, 2 years for each kid. Now she is helping out with my new furry babies. She will do anything she can to help anyone as long as she is able. I try hard every day to be like her but those are big shoes to fill. Again, at 72, still looks great and I never think of her as old. I hope you already know how much you mean to me. Putting it on Facebook lets everyone else see what a great family I have. I am one lucky girl.
