Day 2 of my mini break to London complete and back in Feniton with - TopicsExpress

Day 2 of my mini break to London complete and back in Feniton with my amazing girl Vicki Barnes :) Started with an early tube ride to Hammersmith to meet the amazing consultant to discuss the stem cell transplant for next year ....Dr Kanfer, oozed class and i instantly felt like im going to be in the hands of a genius. It is going to happen at the end of these 48 weeks treatment (they are going to give me a 4-6 week break before i start which is ). 5 weeks full body radiation in St.Thomas Hospital, London, then 2 x weeks lymphocyte radiation in Hammersmith before transplant where why little sis Katherine Lynn is letting me have her stem cells (not all of them!!) to try and give me a new immune system as mine doesnt work properly and is allowing cancerous cells into my body instead of recognising they are bad. Then they will keep me there until my immune system has hopefully started working properly (another month probably)...... Quite complex but totally comfortable with it all as 1. I have a sibling as a donor and 2. My cancer buddy Agata Arnold has had it done and shes still alive (private sick cancer patient sense of humour!!) the team at Hammersmith are superb and i have every confidence in them all (and the nurse was called Rose!!) Bye Rose ;) Then off to Guys for chemo where it was so lovely for Janice Passmore and Neil Passmore to be sat with me, with all the help with the fundraising they have given me and the hospitality they have shown my family since Mums passing it was really special having them with me :) We left the hospital and there was a yellow cone waiting for me by a skip so I like Turkey i like my FEZ was given an airing outside the hospital :) Tube to Waterloo then to get the train back to sunny Devon where we were sat with 2 x lovely ladies and their Daughters Danielle Balsdon and Millie Pring. Janice explained about the fundraising etc and i couldnt believe it when Lou (Millies mum) said she had a FEZBAND already !! she is the kit lady at Exeter City and Harrison Lynn sold her one at the fundraising day that Emmett Ross Casey organised a couple of weeks ago .....what a small world :) All in all probably the maddest 3 x days of my life with Mums funeral Tuesday and then the 2 x days of scans, bloods, chemo, transplant chats etc.......oh and Ted Durkin was in Waterloo last night :o Thank you so much Janice and Neil, im glad you have now experienced a part of my cancer world and i am so appreciative of your support during this tricky little spell. We now have a plan of attack for next year which is great and with Mums strength installed in me there will only be 1 x outcome ;) Thank you all once again for your continued support and if my timings are correct ill be home for Fezmas Day 2015.......gets better eh :), hope your week has been kind everyone, Lynny.............LLTF XXX
