Day 22 of our 25 Days of Christmas! Its Monday, you might be hurrying, but wed like you to pause for just a couple of minutes. Maybe you are traveling to your childhood home or you have family coming home to celebrate Christmas, and if you have a member in the military, you and they are especially feeling emotional right about now. Thats how it was in 1943, when the world was at war. Kim Gannon and Walter Kent had put together a tune to verbalize those emotions, and when Bing Crosby put it on the airwaves, it became a requested favorite. In fact, it was the first song requested in outer space. December 17, 1965, Lovell and Borman were on the Gemini 7 and asked that Ill Be Home for Christmas be played for them. Lots of folks might have recorded it, but theres no one quite like the baritone of Bing. Enjoy your Monday, slow down, and be home wherever you are. youtu.be/VFGfCn5rKIM
