Day 3 - Liverpool Convert Care Mentoring & Leadership Training - TopicsExpress

Day 3 - Liverpool Convert Care Mentoring & Leadership Training at the Abdullah Quillium Mosque with the Embrace Foundation #Reflections - We need more moral imagination amongst our future leaders to massage the bitterness many converts face after embracing Islam. - One should take a step back from the eco system of dawah to look at the complete canvas & not focus on the individual plants - When someone is interested in Islam, then one should take him/her or go with him/her to assist in their search to place they visit to damage repair. - Many face experiences they usually encounter at masjids or within the local community to cause this bitterness & confusion. - Community care organisations need to have buy in from key players linked with support agencies within their local context. - One advice is to engage Muslim youth who are the lowest on the Beard Hijab Index (BHI - phrase from our beloved Shaykh Faraz Rabbani) - We need to cultivate the spirit of Istiab - means to build bonds with people & be familiar with people - forget the ideological head trips that hamper community development - When inviting someone to the faith the purpose should be to call to Allah & not Islam. Islam is a vehicle/means but not the end in itself. - When people want to embrace Islam make the experience at conversion a special one. - Choose a memorable setting, involve their family/friends where possible or just make them comfortable enough to recall all the details fondly. *Important News* We intend to arrange a specific retreat over the course of 3/4 days in the future to go deeply into the step by step guide of convert care, emotional intelligence & spiritual bypassing. *Please Like & Share*
