Day 3-Fire! Time: roughly 30 minutes (I forgot to check my watch as soon as I got the fire lit) Conditions: 32°F, freezing rain, minimal wind. 2 snow on the ground. Today was tricky, due to time limitations and weather. I went out around noon. I had to get creative in order to get dry kindling, and I also shaved some larger sticks to maintain the fire. I used a teepee technique, with a center pole that I made into a feather or fuzz stick. I used birch bark for tinder, which burns very well even when wet. I didnt bring my camera because of the rain, but this is probably what I looked like If you mix these together:
