Day 3 Honduras: We visited the childrens hospital this morning. Heartbreaking, deplorable, unimaginable conditions -- no air conditioning, patients crammed in dirty, dimly lit rooms, patients have to bring their own bedding, children/babies with encephalitis, tumors, meningitis, and many birth defects and illnesses that could be prevented with prenatal care. Chip, Sadie, and I were a team of three going room to room with our interpreters. We prayed over many children and mothers. The mothers wept shamelessly as we prayed for strength and hope and peace and comfort and told them that God loves them, that these illnesses are not their fault, that they are good mothers, that God loves their children more than they do even, that He gave them a mighty purpose in taking care of the least of these. It was an honor to pray for these Hondurans although we felt an overwhelming helplessness. As I prayed for one baby with pneumonia, I prayed for complete healing of her respiratory system and for her lungs to be completely clear. I commanded the affliction of pneumonia to leave her body, and she began coughing violently. When she stopped, she seemed completely better. We believe she was healed! Sadie and I prayed for a 16-year-old girl who was deaf and convulsive because of having meningitis when she was one. Afterwards, her countenance was completely different and we believe her healing began today! I prayed for an infant who had a fist-sized tumor growing out of the back of her brain. I felt the Lord wanting me to put my hand on the tumor and pray for it -- I did that several times, and although I didnt see it today, I know God is dealing with it. Chip prayed for one baby repeatedly because she would only stop crying when he had his hands lifted over her praying for her. :) Right before we left, we met a young man named Amada who had a blood disease. Chip prayed for his body, and then I got a strong impression that God wanted me to speak into his future. I began to tell him that God was going to magnify Himself in him, that God had hope and a future for him, that God was going to raise him up to be mighty and strong, and on and on. He began to weep and lift his hands and praise the Lord. It was one of the most beautiful things Ive ever seen. I cannot convey in words how the Lord is moving constantly and mightily here. The worse the situations we walk into, the more miracles there are. Please continue to pray for us -- we are going into the mens prison this evening to worship and witness and pray with the inmates. Pray that they would see our hearts and feel the love of Jesus filling up all the wounds in their hearts.
