Day 3: Read Acts 15:36-41. Paul and Barnabas worked together to accomplish much for the Lord. We shouldn’t allow this disagreement to detract from their prosperous partnership. Appar-ently, Paul was not appreciative of the fact that Mark had bailed out on them during their 1st mis-sionary journey and was not eager to allow a unreliable man to accompany them. Barnabas disa-greed and wanted his cousin, John Mark to come along. It is unfruitful to apply fault to either Paul or Barnabas. To our knowledge, neither man was in sin. They simply disagreed regard-ing the specifics of how to best accomplish the work. Both men remained committed to the spread of the gospel. In the end, God used this event to multiply the impact, as both men went about their mission separately—though Paul remained the main character in the Acts narrative. Unity does not always require agreement regarding methodology; it does require, however, the continual priority and devotion to God’s purpose. What is your priority?
