Day 3 in Iceland We got up and on the road before 7am this morning, to get a good start on our self-driven Golden Circle exploration. We made lots of stops and detours along the way but the main points of interest for this day were Þingvellir National Park (site of the first Icelandic Parliament), Geysir (a field of geysers from which all geysers take their name), and Gulfoss (a huge and spectacular series of waterfalls. Along the way to these spots we stopped to explore and feel our way around the tiny roads leading into the interior. Were in between massive wind and hail storms at the moment, and thinking of heading down to the pool/spa in the small town that were staying in for the night ... more adventures tomorrow.
