Day 3 of 5 - a song thats significant to me: Id have to go with this one, La Bamba! Ive seen the movie more times then I can count and growing up in a Mexican family this tune (and movie) had a big impact on me. This version is the actual version as can be heard in the film but is very different to Ritchie Valens original version which I found out much later. This version is by Los Lobos, still a great song all the same and a traditional Mexican song. The fact that Ritchie Valens died in a plane crash at the the tender age of 18 (was in the same plane crash as Buddy Holly) and was a hero to Mexicans the world over makes it that much more dear to me. youtu.be/jSKJQ18ZoIA
