Day #33: Bible in 90 Days Challenge (March 22, 2014) 2nd Chronicles 23:16 thru 2nd Chronicles 35:15 Athaliah was the Queen who ruled over Judah. A few years into her reign there was a revolt against her and she was killed. She was a wicked ruler We learn about another young king (Joash) who took the throne at 7 years old. This young king did what was right in the sight of God during the lifetime of priest Jehoiada. Jehoiada died at 130 years old. After Jehoiada died......righteousness was reversed because the leaders of Judah persuaded king Joash to defile the temple and worship false gods. God sent Zachariah (the son of priest Jehoiada who was dead now) to say to them......God says, why do you refuse to obey my commands and keep yourselves from prospering?......You have abandoned me and now I am abandoning you. The leaders plated to kill Zachariah and king Joash ordered him to be killed. This is how he repaid the priest Jehoiada. His reign ended soon there after. His own officials assassinated him in his bed for killing (Zachariah) the son of the priest Jehoiada.
