Day 350: Today Im grateful to have ridiculous faith. My parents lived their entire lives with ridiculous faith. About 15 years ago my dad had a stroke. I was pretty young and not on a great path in life. I was angry at God. Actually, I was furious. I was furious because my dad that served God almost his entire life and had already been through chemo several times and even lost his leg was once again laying in a hospital bed. I remember walking into his hospital room and the first words he said to me (slurred due to the stroke) were, God is always faithful, Michelle. Not a hint of anger, frustration, disappointment, or doubt. Just those words that he believed with everything in him- God is always faithful, Michelle. I remember asking him how he could even say that when he was laying in a hospital bed, barely able to talk, and unable to move half of his body. I couldnt understand his faith and he couldnt understand my lack of faith. He looked at me very matter of fact and said, Yes I can. He then reached across and lifted his arm that was not working and held it up in the air with the arm that was. Lol. Ridiculous faith. During hard times in life my mom would always say, Im just excited to see what Gods gonna do. Ridiculous faith. Ridiculous faith did not prevent hard times in their lives but it did allow them to have peace and hope that carried them through those hard times. Ridiculous faith is the most priceless, precious gift my parents left me. Im grateful my parents taught me to have ridiculous faith.
