Day 39... Just mowed a steak. Temperatures starting to creep - TopicsExpress

Day 39... Just mowed a steak. Temperatures starting to creep up. About 42 today. Head into town tomorrow to attend to some repairs. Brand new solar panels not working and sense a problem with the regulator. Bugger as has meant needed to run vehicle during the day to keep battery levels up. This time of day is magic, despite the lack of storms. Weather appears though that it might be on the turn by the weekend. Heres hoping. Only wildlife out here so far is the brumby herd I see most days and the odd scrub bull. Theres a small waterhole about 1.5 metres deep and only three or four metres wide. But its tricky getting in and out of - easy to bust an ankle - and a perfect haven for snakes. Plus, its not really cool in any case. Have plenty of work keeping me occupied and enjoy the physical and mental challenge of being out here at this time of year. It feels like a good test and rewarding if you can somehow come home with the bacon. Time will tell. Its remote and a very beautiful area but I sense sees less storm activity than other parts of the Pilbara. The remoteness adds to the degree of difficulty in pulling the image I want. Just because it takes so long to get in and out of here and weather forecasts from the towns are generally not so relevant to here. Theres also the desire to not push the vehicle too hard as the track is rougher now than earlier in the year. Essentially you have to be here in case something happens. The story to taking advantage of most opportunity that presents in life.
