Day 4- I am highly thankful for my right to vote. I was born on an election day, so this has always held a little bit of a special significance to me I guess. I was raised by a family that were always informed voters and my Grandma worked the elections since before I was born. I went to school in a time when my teachers were able to say if you dont vote, you cant complain. So many people dont care anymore and they dont feel that their vote matters anymore. Well, Im here to tell you that it does, especially in local elections in small towns like mine. Our rights are being taken away a little at a time, whether we realize it or not. If my generation doesnt care enough to vote, then our children wont. I am proud to say that I have a child that enjoys going with me and always has. He likes to check out the voting booths and wear the sticker home. Thats all it takes is a little involvement and the example for them to model after. If our children and grandchildren dont take interest, that will be all that it will take to lose that right. I shudder to think that in my older age, I might not be able to have that right. Be informed and stay involved. Just go to the polls and put in your ballot. Take the time! It doesnt take that long. Your candidate might not win, but you can say you supported them anyway!
