Day 4 gratitude challenge! 1) I am oh so thankful for my WMG family!!! Ive been at Willis Management Group for over 9 years now. Ive watched our company grow from a small office in Dublin, to a larger office, adding new coworkers and friends in San Ramon. While some good friends and coworkers have come and gone, the core of us have remained. My boss is more like an older brother and good friend and has supported me and my growth throughout the years. Despite how trying and difficult our job can be, my coworkers are some of my closest friends. I truly can say I enjoy coming into the office, as there is not a day that goes by that we dont laugh and smile. Love you all!! 2) my mother reminded me today of how wonderful my childhood was by sharing a beautiful memory of our summers spent on swim team. I have decided to share a piece of what she wrote. In reading this I was taken back to a time and place where life was carefree, laughter, good times, community and of course, swim team...While heading north on 680 yesterday morning I looked up and on the hill before me appeared the letters RMST...big, bold and white...and suddenly my mind and heart was filled with memories of summer days a life time ago...thoughts of free, fly, back and breast ...kids running around in matching swim suits with Seals on their caps...wet towels, green hair, Jolly Ranchers, donuts on Saturday morning, cold Wednesday night meets, the kickboard cheer, Brett blowing up a swim cap, kidnapping the coaches, spaghetti feeds and shave downs, awards dinner and slide shows ...oh so many memories ...I wondered how many people driving by were puzzled and confused by the sign ...while I on the other hand was teary eyed and smiling at a tradition started oh so long ago...Thank-you Rudgear Meadows Swim Team... Thank you, mom, for sharing this memory with us and for reminding me how grateful I am for this memory and for the childhood and community I was raised in. 3) my mediation practice. While it is not as consistent as I would like, my mediation practice is a piece of my life that provides a great sense of stillness, grounding and endless luminosity. And a big thanks to my teacher, Mynx Inatsugu who somehow always gets me in a place of complete stillness. As always, practice this evening was beautiful.
