Day 4 of 5 Days of Artwork: electroStatic Architecture, 2010 Livewires mounted to the top of the pillars act as antennas waiting to detect any presence of static electricity. The floor is carpeted to augment the amount of static electricity a person carries. The amplification of the static electricity allows for more electrostatic energy to be collected and used as light energy. When the area is empty, the light from within the pillars is constant, detecting the static electricity in the air. As someone enters the area, the light within pillars flicker and intensify as the antennas detect electrostatic charge from the person. For Day 4, I invite Ashley Cummings to participate
