Day 4 of three positives: 1) another beautiful sunny day at the zoo... Kids were visiting today with Sam, and I joined them at lunchtime for a chillout under the big old yew tree on the back lawn (cue Quote of the Day from Erin: Mum, why is that tree an accident? ... Me: No honey, the sign says This tree is ANCIENT. Not accident. Lol bless her #blondemoment) We saw the meerkats, the kids saw the flamingo chicks, and we all met up later to watch handsome Bagai have his special feed (especially special as its International Tiger Day); what an extraordinary animal and what a privilege to watch him up close... Amazing. 2) PA of the month, and Star of the month (Nicola Cole), took ourselves for a celebratory ice cream in honour of our achievements. Yum! 3) D ended the day with a bit of heatstroke - but he sipped water, slept on me on the sofa for a bit while I watched Commonwealth Games (putting me in nostalgic mind of 2004 when he was a baby, sleeping on me while I watched the Athens Olympics), meanwhile Erin wrapped up our uneaten dinner to keep it warm, brought us cool drinks and was generally amazing. Then she produced me one of her gorgeous handmade heartfelt cards. A And then after a while D just woke up, bright as a button like nothing happened. Kids are amazing. He literally needed to reboot (just like a computer, mummy - switch it off, switch it on again. Glitch all gone!) So to summarise - tigers are awesome, ice cream is awesome, my kids are awesome. Its like the Lego Movie song... :)
