Day +44 Well today was the day from hell....started with us going to akron general to start his radiation, and after 45 mins waiting, they came out and told us the radiation machine was broken....seriously? So now he waits until Monday to start, which adds 4 more days to our stay here at ronald....then we go to clinic to check his blood counts and chemistries, and it took forever until we got all the results back, about 3 hours total....well his potassium, which had previously been really low, which he was on a supplement for, was super high, and his sodium was low....This caused concern, bc it could be from heart or kidney problems....they took more blood to double check, which came back the same, so he had to get an ekg....ekg came back normal, so they gave him fluids and lasix, and then checked again, and it was down enough for them to feel comfortable sending us packing....at no more potassium twice a day, but we added oral nystatin to his daily list of meds, bc he now has thrush in his mouth....I swear its one thing after another....so we got back to ronald, and thankfully my gma was here, bc I realized I forgot to pick up the nystatin from the pharm, so I walked back to childrens to get it....at that point it was 5pm, which concluded our almost 7 hr clinic visit....then I had to change his broviac dressing, which is always a scream fest, and by that point it had been about 24 hrs since I had eaten, so I was in a wonderful mood....not....lol well I got some dinner while he was watching a movie, and then after changing his caps, doing all 6 of his evening meds, giving him a bath/brushing teeth, starting his fluids, and filling his feeds, he is now asleep, and I am right behind him!!! The only positive, is that we get the next 3 days with no appointments!!! So excited to sleep, and sleep, and sleep lol and then wake up and play, and play, and play!!! Prayers that we have an uneventful weekend together!!! We love you all :)
