Day 45 Well the ups have to come with the downs! Tuesday was a good day with the continuation of counselling and the removal of the pins in Mary Annes right hand. As the cast came off and the wounds became visible so the anxiety level rose a little. The ends of the pins were quite visible and we could clearly see what had to happen!!! Well, the pins came out first, which was the easier of the two procedures, then the fourteen stitches on the top of Mary Annes hand and the four underneath on the palm were removed. Some discomfort was experienced and all was good for the first few hours post procedure. Then Mary Anne experienced excruciating pain for which we had to go to emergency services to receive relief for. The tendons in the fingers were shortened due to the pins holding the fingers in a certain position and so when they are removed the tendons can go into spasm and cause pain-- which is what happened! She is doing much better today and the pain is under control. Please pray for complete recovery without long term, chronic complications of pain. Little Hayley was up all night with severe ear ache and she also is recovering well today after appropriate treatment. Your prayers for her are requested too please. The rest of us are finding our way through the wake left from last night. With pills in hand (for all of us!) and the protection and care of our Lord and Saviour we are praying for a good night tonight. So a wobbly day was had by all to say the least!!! Thank goodness our Lord remains constant, faithful, trustworthy and our Rock from which we draw our strength. God bless. Anne
