Day 49 Juice Fast 06/49/13 My daughter and I tried to go to the pool again today after being thwarted yesterday. We arrived at the first pool and it was closed. So then I went to fastnight pool. Now this takes me back. This was the only pool in the area when I was in junior high. I felt really old. The odd thing was the last day I went to the pool was the day before we moved to Louisiana. A kid died that day and I helped the life guard get him out of the pool. He was an over weight kid who was taking medication which he was not suppose to be in the sun with. The combination of sun and medication caused him to go unconscious and he floated face down in the pool. He was a wrong kind of blue and it was passed due for him to be rescued. I was on the diving board at the time and did not even think just reacted to go help. Looks like even back then I was destined for this kind of work. Well today after entering the pool someone drowned and we had to stand and wait for about 20 minutes while the life guards saved a kids life. Thankfully this one made it but the irony of the situation was not lost on me. My life is a series of ironies it seems. Well me and girl got to swim and play in my old (very old) stomping grounds. Now they have a cool water slide that was a lot of fun. They did not have that when I was a kid. My daughter asked what we did back then and I said the only pool toy was the diving board and each other. We were more creative then. Well God has been with me for this whole time. The only difference is I know Him better now. I am thankful for how He has watched over me all these years. I never thought Id hit 40, I am so accident prone.
