Day 5 Be Still (Excerpt from my book Quit Talking) We prefer - TopicsExpress

Day 5 Be Still (Excerpt from my book Quit Talking) We prefer constant distraction from the truth that we have no desire to achieve clarity and focus in our relationship with God. Our world is full of noise, lights, entertainment, time wasters of all types, shapes and sizes, hobbies, and other shiny things to distract an attention deficit church in competition with itself to be the biggest, best and busiest. We fear silence because we are afraid to be confronted with the truth that even with all we possess and all we accomplish, our lives are utterly empty, because we neglect our relationship with God. A relationship with God is impossible without stillness and silence. Being still, keeping still, and being silent allows us to enter into God’s protection and strength. We need to stop, “be still,” and know that He is God. Literally, “Be still” means to cast down or to let it fall and then to relax. It gives us the sense of not making any effort and leaving everything with God. Only by being still and keeping silence before the Lord, can we perceive and receive understanding of who He is. As you pray don’t try to force the conversation. Relax in stillness, leaving all with God. Here is todays Starting Point youtu.be/3zFaGiTWNaw If you get behind all videos will be Here, but please try to do one a day. secondwindresources.org/secondwind-prayer-resources.html
