Day 5 Last Day of #Dublinhorseshow & what a week! Really want to thank all who visited & for their very kind comments. To Fiona & Paula who have worked so hard. To our friends beside us Natalie Dempsey & Padraic who we always have great craic with. But for me as a photographer you work away alone an island all year, travelling the highways & byways but each image you create is a time from, your life. With the equine portraits you walk into someones home & yard a stranger & you try to capture them & their horses and if they are happy youve done your professional job but thats only part of my buzz for the last 22 years. My personal buzz is the connection you make, the lifetime friendships you make. The 1st Dublin Horse Show I met a beautiful woman walked onto stand & loved Catherine Hartys portrait in her stables. (Rita Murphy) she asked me could I do same for her in their stables in Malin Head. This email arrived this week. I have to admit she knocked me for 6. I have always wanted a family portrait but I hate how they so often become dated. Walking through the stalls at the RDS I spotted a beautiful family portrait with horses and dogs and as we feel our animals are part of our family, I thought it was a great idea to include them. I decided to take the leap and book a photo session with Sinead before our daughters both flew the coop for college. It turned out to be a very pleasant experience even though we had one very lively horse and two golden retrievers with short attention spans. Sineads professionalism ensured that the whole day went without a hitch and everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed the shoot. Nothing was too much for Sinead. She took everything I had to say on board and turned the process into a true collaboration, which I really appreciated. Our photos turned out absolutely magnificent. Sinead was able to achieve the timeless, classic look that I was searching for in a family portrait. We also got a gorgeous photo of each of our daughters with their horse that they will be able to keep forever. All in all it was a fantastic experience that I would vehemently recommend to anyone looking for a timeless photo that will capture the essence of their family. Regards, Geraldine McClean
