Day 5 Matthew 5:27-28 In the early days of a relationship lust - TopicsExpress

Day 5 Matthew 5:27-28 In the early days of a relationship lust often rules and when the dust settles many people find they don’t really like the person to whom they were so intensely physically attracted. When this happens the relationship abruptly ends and leaves people wondering where the love went; therefore, something must be wrong with the idea of love. Love loses credibility while we continue toward deeper lust. But love is more than a physical longing. Physical attraction is a key ingredient in any romantic relationship. However, if all you have between you is attraction, you’re not really in love. Really loving another person takes time, effort, patience and it takes perseverance and it can’t be based on physical attraction alone. (McCartney) Until you know somebody well you can’t really be in love. Humanity currently rushes into wrong relationships because we think that relationships validate us. There is only one relationship that validates us and that is with Jesus. Otherwise, how will we know if any other relationship is healthy? For healthy relationships, make sure they are flowing out of your relationship with Jesus and His love.
