Day 5 Well this is my last post for the challenge and I would like to thank Ian Hodgson, Michael Stephan and now Justin Lambert for setting me this challenge. In turn today I would like to challenge Tim Rowan to post 3 works a day for 5 days and nominate another maker each day to do the same. His work continues to inspire and challenge my thinking about form, making and a sensitive response to place. Today I thought I would finish with 3 Instills. These explore a way to present work that only finds its full potential in use in a sterile gallery setting where the capacity to show that potential is absent or at best severely diminished. The pots are treated more as found objects, displayed in groupings as I explore connections or contrasts - not as a still life but waiting expectantly for life to be instilled. I was lucky to win the inaugural Vitrify Ceramic Award with some of these Instills in 2011. They are titled respectively , Light and Shade , Huddle and When I grow into my Skin Thats all folks - its been a good journey and I look forward to seeing other contributions.
