Day 7: 90 Mile to Clinton. I woke up in the rain with enough - TopicsExpress

Day 7: 90 Mile to Clinton. I woke up in the rain with enough power in my phone to send one message and then it died. Everything was wet. I put on full rain gear. Hotdogs waste disposal bags fit perfectly over my feet and kept them dry for the first few hours. Everything was wet within five hours. Theres not much you can do when the vehicles passing spray up so much water its like youre at the bottom of a pool. There is construction going on, so no shoulder. Had to ride on the other side of the road for a few kilometres. Hotdog hated this because it wasnt set up for him to walk. He likes the rain. Not necessarily when its pouring hard, but just after the rain when everything smells fresh and new. I stopped in 70 Mile to charge my phone. The solar charger couldnt do much with the dark clouds. As we sat there, the rain stopped and the wind picked up. I changed into dry shoes. Not ideal cycling shoes but they were dry and I needed that. When I was charged enough, I carried on. Before the end of town, the rain picked up again. Luckily it was a short downpour, just enough to wet my shoes. After that it was sun and wind for the rest of the trip. So we dried right out. The downhills are getting steep and long. This is causing problems for the trailer. I dont think it was built to go this fast. Hitting uneven ground is putting it of balance. Its starting to scare me. Its holding my best friend. So I took it slow today. Another awesome roadside guest. Glenn stopped by with food for me a hotdog. A very thoughtful gift. He even stole a mug to keep my soup warm. Sweet guy. This will be the last post. I venture into the land of no cell service tomorrow. I will be safe. I would like to thank you all for your support and kind words. Until next time, keep fit and have fun! Strong positive feelings! This post is brought to you by Glenn, who brought me warm soup on my coldest day. A hero to me and Hotdog. Thanks Glenn.
