Day 72 How fragile life is. How comfortable and complacent we can get. Taking so much for granted, not understanding that you cant take blessings for granted. The terrible thing is that you dont realize how blessed you are until you realize how fast it can be taken away. In a day. In one day everything can change. In one moment you are living and in the next you are not. One day you are untouchable, the next you are broken. I dont want to be stressed about every second of every day, but I want to remember that being safe and comfortable is not a guarantee. Some think that if you are a Christian you are entitled to a perfect, unflawed life. Untrue. How do you explain the lives of the disciples, or missionaries who have died for their faith? What about people who are born into extreme poverty, or those born with severe birth defects? To believe that we are entitled to a charmed life, would be to say that God loves some more than others. The rich more than the poor, the healthy more than the sick, the beautiful more than the disfigured. No. Its a lie. We are all loved by God, trying to make it in an imperfect world, in imperfect bodies, suffering losses and trying to survive to feel another day of love and joy. Hoping. Always hoping for better days ahead. And sometimes we get them. But whether I have them or not, Im going to thank God that I know my blessings and Im not taking them for granted. That feels better than being rich or beautiful. Jesus is my reward. My portion. My inheritance. Heaven is my home. Hoping to take as many with me as I can.
