Day 77 of my 100 days of happiness challenge. I’m taking the time to show my appreciation for the good things that made me happy today. Today’s thought to ponder: “Never forget your past, its the foundation that built your existence and the secret to your future.” Jasmina Siderovski ************************* I’m happy that today I decided to reflect on my life and to think about how I got to where I am now. I realized that much of who I’ve become is a result of my response to some serious challenges and self-destructive behaviors. It makes me appreciate all of the people that I had, and have that helped me to overcome them. Life at this time is grand. Thanks you. I’m happy that I got to serve others today by assisting the Rotary Club of Avalon Park through donations, advising future college students, working on the Avalon Park Foundation Gala Silent Auction in November and the Silent Auction for The Cure Bowl at the Fire In The Park - Avalon Park Chili Challenge in January. I’m happy that I gathered my thoughts and recommitted myself to working towards overcoming the physical challenges that I have. Some of you can empathize that I don’t like that doctor visits, scans/x-rays, and having blood drawn all of the time have become a routine part of my life. When things got tough during my workout at the Avalon Park YMCA I thought of those in my life that I care about that are fighting much bigger battles than I am. I know what I felt at that time in no way compares to the pain, discomfort and efforts my friends and family are enduring just to stay alive. If I knew that an increase of effort and discomfort on my part would relieve them, even if just a short time, I would do it. I’m happy that when I get on the tread mill or the bike to spin away that my thoughts can wander so that “I can see clearly now.”
