Day 8: Radical faith. Most people who know me would tell you that I when I believe something I will step out on faith and do it. In 2008, I went on a 3 day fast concerning obtaining a job, on the third day Shannon Smith Ritter called me to interview for a Career and Technical Education recruiter position at Alachua County Public Schools. After the first interview which was over the phone they called me for a second interview that needed to be face to face. At that time, I had just paid my car off but felt that I was supposed to sow it to my friend. I left my car (1999 Buick Century) in front of my aunt and uncles house and bought a one way plane ticket back to Gainesville, Fl, after my summer job was over (see day 6) to go to a second interview that there was no guarantee the job was mine. Upon arrival, I proceeded to rent a car for a month and stay with Faye Payne-Dollison a mother of one of my mentees Whit Dollison. A day after I arrived, I landed the job, got a nice apartment, a month after, I bought my first car from Nissan brand spanking new, with not so new credit. Matter of fact the used car dealership in Gainesville denied me but Nissan had a deal going that if you worked in a job that was connected to your major they would waive the credit score (Masters degree in Workforce Education, Job in Career and Technical Education). (Random fact according to hebcal, the biblical calender states my birthday, April, 10 is the month of Nisan). The moral of the story is that Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him as righteousness. In the last few years my faith took a major hit but when I look back over my life I cant help but testify If He did it before He will do it again. BTW, that job was the very best job ever, with the very best staff, I appreciate them giving me a chance.
