Day 8: This dua is one I love, and it is actually from the last ayah in Surah Bakarah. Its amazingly powerful. There is, in fact, a Hadith about it that states: Whoever recites the last two ayat in Surah Al Baqarah at night, they will suffice for him (Bukhari) Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people. The story behind it: On the authority of Abdullah, when the Messenger of Allah went on the Isra journey (night journey), he ascended to the Sidrat al- Muntaha, a tree in the 7th Heaven. Here he was given three things from Allah, 1) The 5 daily prayers 2) The concluding verses to Surah Baqarah 3) Forgiveness for whoever did not associate anything or anyone with Allah from his Ummah.
