Day 8: Who is Impact Africa – Part 2: Baby Rescue Center As I am thinking over the posts from this week. I realized that I have not given a depiction of who is Impact Africa and what I will be doing in South Africa. The other day I sought to change that with the post about Impact Kids. Today I would like to share about the Baby Rescue Center. Each day in Johannesburg an average of 3 babies are abandoned and left for dead. The Impact Africa Baby Rescue Center exists for the purpose of transforming the hopes and futures of desperate people in need. Specifically for young mothers and babies living within the squatter camp of Diepsloot. Here, the future is unknown and the present reality of poverty is overwhelming. This reality leaves newly pregnant mothers with a disillusioned view of the future and little hope of a better life for their children. The Impact Baby Rescue Center reaches out to these desperate and hopeless families by offering crisis pregnancy counseling, pregnancy and parent help, and a registered place of safety. It is the heart beat of the Impact Baby Rescue to not only rescue abandoned babies, but to counsel and equip young mothers to properly care for their baby.
