Day 8 update: thought for sure we would be heading home... but the answer is NO. 8 szs before waking this morning. then realized there is no insurance, nursing, medical or anything else setup in place for discharge. Called the welfare office about the split application and after a week, the committee in Trenton was still debating as to the disabled. status of Jaxs? yes that was questionable.... I spoke with the discharge planner here at the hospital and advised we cannot be discharged because of the insurance and no services. She was going to send up a social worker and the charity care person? not sure what that was going to help with... but, ok. Then the welfare lady called and advised my son is considered disabled and that they are continuing his medicaid benefits under his SSI#. Called the insurance company to determine if Jaxs had an auth for services and she is on vacation unti Aug 8th. So, we cannot go home until services are established and secure. that means, I do not know when we can go home! Jaxs is awake and doing well. He is happy, a lot of smiles, no self abusive behaviors or others, and just enjoying reading his books. He is talking like crazy, sees the smallest details and points it out. He is just a joy right now. I went to work earlier today and yesterday evening. For those that know me, Jaxs must be doing better because i left the hospital. I will go out again this evening to see a client as well. But until Jaxs medical home services are re-established, we cannot go home.....
