Day 9: We had been out to sea about 2 days when we had quite the queer experience. Having Spotted a ship on the horizon, we prepared for the possibility of having to face the dread pirates that sailed the local waters, however, upon closer inspection of the ship we were approaching, it seems someone had painted the bow of the vessel to appear as a large, grinning house Feline rearing through the waves! We were welcomed aboard by a band of pirates(and i use this term VERY loosely in regards to them) in the gaudiest assembly of multi-colored attire i had ever seen on a group of sea-faring brigands. Their leader, a fellow captain such as myself, introduced herself as one Steffani "The Kitten Mittens" KittenHawk. She made the introductions of her crew(many of which were of the four, and sometimes, three legged variety) After a quaint feast of strange and frankly, delicious, meats and fruits, our traveling companion(the female who travled with us from the start) the Gypsy Soothsayer Nadia Morgan, threw three casks of rum overboard and abandoned ship herself after seeing the pet "Gorilla"(some large bipedal beast covered in hair, much like our friends in the far southern colonies) kept by the good captain. Well, after giving some provisions and a warm place to sleep that night, our dear friends were kind enough to give us a spare lifeboat and point us towards a chain of Unexplored islands. As we were shambling over the side into our boat, one of the crew members pulled me aside and told me "be careful where you tread on those islands, some things are best left where they undisturbed" before he crossed himself and disappeared below decks. Confusing as it was, we are told reaching the island will take no more than a day or such. So, it is with a bounce in my step(ironic since i am currently sitting in a lifeboat with 4 other individuals and a cat Mr. Franklin "Acquired" as emergency rations. If you ask me, he just likes the damn cat) that i set out on the next phase of our journey. P.S. I dont think that is the last we will see of the Good captain, nor that Gypsy.
