Day 93- Made it to Nachez! Heavy barge traffic again today, but Layne Logue and I kept our eyes and ears open and monitored the radio. A group of storms ( lightening) developed later this afternoon that caused us to shelter off the water. We waited for an opening. And then we paddled in the rain toward Nachez. When we arrived at the landing, there were people coming down to the landing to greet us and a newspaper reporter asked me questions about my trip and a photographer was taking pictures. We enjoyed a great dinner with Laynes friends, and then sang and listened to some fantastic guitar and mandolin music. What talent! It was time to say so long to my paddle buddy and Layne headed back to Vicksburg, but hopefully I will be able to extend the same kindness and hospitality if he ever visits the Mississippi River near my house. Thanks to the good folks in Vicksburg for all of their kindness.
