Day Four Japan, East Asia A quarter of Japan’s population is over the age of 65. However, only 13.2% of Japan’s population is between the ages of 0 and 14 years old, the lowest in the world. Yet, Japan’s senior citizens complain daily about the noise children make. In some communities, children are not allowed to go on a walk or make noise during athletic practice, for fear of the disturbance they would create. Pray for Japan’s older citizens to view children as their future and as a blessing from God. Pray for the Japanese Church to help bridge the generation gap and bring both sides together through Jesus Christ (The Bible, Psalm 127:3). Guinea-Bissau, West Africa Due to Guinea-Bissau’s drug trafficking and government corruption issues, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) voted to extend its political mission in the beleaguered country. The goal of the UNSC is to “restore constitutional order and medium-term stability.” The United Nations believes, “Guinea-Bissau could become a shining example of a success story.” Pray for an end to drug trafficking and money laundering in Guinea-Bissau. Pray for the success of the UN’s mission to restore order and stability. Pray for many people in Guinea-Bissau to believe in Jesus Christ (The Bible, Isaiah 33:6).
