Day Just MADE & felt the need to share :) So I get a phone call from 1 of those student loan consolidation companies & for the FIRST time I can actually say YAY! The lady on the other end of the call proceeds to ask me a MILLION questions about my work history, family size, etc. So I start explaining my last 10 years-if you know me, then youll know those years have consisted of the revolving doors of addiction. And what happened next was PURELY GOD! Our conversation went from student loan debt, to addiction struggles, and then to surrendering! As I proceeded to explain to this lady (whose name idk) that the ONLY reason Im working on month 9 of sobriety is that I serve an ALMIGHTY God, I hear a sob in her voice. As I paused to make sure I heard right, which I did, shes in tears on the other end of this call. So not wanting to invade her privacy, I simply added that even though idk her story, her situation, not her struggles I would like to pray for her! She explains to me that she has family members struggling with addictions of their own, that she is struggling with how to handle the addiction & the judgement that comes with that, as well as a few other things. And never in a million years would she have guessed that in calling some # that popped across her desk would/could have affected her in such a way! All I could do was tell her that I take NO CREDIT for any of this, for having sobriety under my belt, nor for being so bold and quick to share my story. The ONLY reason why ANY of this was/is possible is because I have surrendered to My Gods will for my life, I trust in his unfailing love, and I have faith in his limitless power to fix what society deems unfixable! I stand in awe of an AMAZING God! A God that can and does use the smallest phone call for His Glory! My God who takes the sin from my past & uses it to bring hope for the future!
