Day One - travel day... We actually travelled from home to Manchester on Friday evening. We stayed in Bewleys Manchester ,excellent VFM. As well as overnight stay they look after your car for the duration of youre stay away. Once wed dropped our bags we had a bar meal, which Ive got to say for the price, quality and quantity of the servings put us in the mood for US portions, 5⭐️. Sat morning we got up at 7am and out the hotel to catch the minibus transfer to terminal 2. When we arrived the Virgin lady ( dont actually know if she was but her name was Mary!) offered to take us off the flight. We were offered to travel to Atlanta, with Delta Airlines then transfer internal on to Orlando, on a later flight, with $600 compensation or return travel on a future flight except Australia. Gave it some thought but decided to stick with our original plan,as we just wanted to get away. 11am - Lovely plane Jersey Girl got us in the air on time. The flight turned into a scene from the Exorcist with a puking family two rows in front , and another few rows behind. One of the toilets was sealed off due to someone dropping excess. Landed safely and smoothly, out through into customs and automated photo & fingerprints, only to have the happy chappy at the counter do my son and I again? 8pm UK (3pm US) Bags collected and off to the car rental. Alamo to collect our horses and cart, we had prepaid and hoping not to be hassled at the counter. If we are not successful, our grandchildren and their grandchildren will beg for crumbs from the Americans! (Film quote) Sticking to my guns this time! A short time later and we were off in a lovely big SUV Santa Fe...driving out the car park and my TomTom asked if I wanted to avoid tolls or not. Slip of my finger meant we had a slightly long trip to our villa as Id prepaid for the Tolls...lol but we never went through any..... Bags dropped at Villa and off to WALMART 11pm UK (6pm US) back to villa 12:30am UK (7:30pm US)... Ham salad sandwich with Ranch Sauce, weve never found it at home, and Pringles watched a movie, the universe is on Orions Belt ....and at 1:30am UK ( 8:30pm US) we all needed to get to our beds.... LET THE FUN BEGIN
