Day One of Assassins is over, and do your know what that means? The return of my daily corny recaps and highlights. The theme for this semesters code names is movies, so put on your cinema caps and enjoy the show!! Aladin was doing a bit of panther cave spelunking when he was greeted by a haymaker from Rocky. Despite Bruce Willis’ determination, Die Hard got Spirited Away. Dr. Strangelove rode the bomb all the way to his demise. Who knew that he would come to love it? The Shining and Ben-Hur met inconceivable ends courtesy of The Princess Bride. Shawshank just barely missed Redemption, as she just couldnt out run Forrest (RUN!!). Some say that love hurts, and I can confirm this as Love actually killed Gandhi. Rebel without a Cause can’t seem to get motivated and did nothing particularly exciting today. The ultimate action movie hero show down occurred on Day One, with Robocop being Terminated (Somewhere Arnold is having a small identity crisis). Mr. Smith really went to town today (Washington to be specific) as he racked up a total of 6 kills in under 24 hours! Lion King went on a hunt, but M*A*S*H turned out be just too Mobile (Army Surgical Hospital) for him to keep up, and then the poor Lion got sunk by the Titanic, in a strange turn of events. Scientists are struggling to figure out how exactly the ship got to Pride Rock, but some suspect that James Cameron was getting overly ambitious. The Godfather was quite conniving today, showing some True Grit and sending two films Up in flames. Yes it was quite the active day! Out of our starting 72 assassins, 24 have bitten the dust! Now it is time for the leaderboard: Remaining Assassins: 48 1.) Mr. Smith Goes to Washington with 6 Kills 2.) A THREE WAY TIE AT 2 KILLS for Casablanca, The Princess Bride, and The Godfather Oh, and this semester, we are adding in a little something new. The two prize winning assassins (Last Standing and Most Kills) will have their code name movies shown in the Stout Theater on Friday! Happy Hunting! See you in another 24 hours!
